Several years ago, I used to kayak on a lake close to Parry Sound, Ontario. When going early in the morning or after dinner, you could catch the loons on the water, sometimes with their younglings. The sound that loons make is one I cannot forget. It is one of the most hauntingly beautiful bird calls. This mixed media piece was inspired by some of the most gorgeous photos I was able to capture of the loons from my kayak. When you look at it, you can almost hear the call.
