Humpbacks are one of my favourite animals. Every time I see these giants, my heart melts. I wanted to depict the beauty of a humpback in the ocean. Some of the background textures I used were meant to depict waste, such as bottles and plastic bags. Other textures were meant to represent algae and corals. The ripped edges leading to a bare, almost colourless background with only a few bubbles was an allusion to what oceans would look like without life.
